About Daniel

“Daniel Boyd” is the pen name of Daniel Stumpf. Boyd writes fast-paced adventure, crime and horror novels, as well as Westerns, with memorable characters. AESOP’S TRAVELS (2023), won the Spur Award from the Western Writers of America for Best Traditional Novel. His first novel, ‘NADA (2010), was a Spur finalist for Best First Novel. The Streak Wilson Series includes three books: MENTION MY NAME IN HELL (2025), GONE TO GRAVEYARDS (2023) AND THE DEVIL & STREAK WILSON (2020). Other books are: HAMLET AMONG THE PIRATES (2024) and EASY DEATH (2014).

Boyd served on the police force for 25 years, eventually becoming Chief of Police at a department in Central Ohio. After he retired from the force, he served as a driver for the American Red Cross for 20 years. Now fully retired and enjoying life with his wife in central Ohio, Boyd spends his time writing, watching “old weird movies,” studying HAMLET, and making tobacco pipes and sculptures from upcycled objects.
